    Trolling VS Casting ...at NIGHT

Hi all just wondering what your thoughts are on casting vs trolling at night ?
Ive done very little casting at night ,not even a lot of trolling (Mainly due to> night = beer haha)and im at monduran in 3days and have never cought a barra at night, so i want to give it ago ,
So what has worked better for you guys ?? Any tips ? and anybody going to be there during the 20th>24th?

Mate, nothing comes close to the weak at the knees...I feel faint...I think I'm having a heart attack feeling when a large fish takes your lure right at the surface under your feet just as you are preparing to lift it out of the water. And this feeling is multiplied many, many times when this happens at night. Gotta go and have another adrenalin rush.

    Cheers,
    Steve.

trolling works extremely well at night, especially if you have a gps and mark every strike you get and every fish you land, then if you can work out a pattern of where and when the fish are feeding then you can stop and cast in that area and work it over more extensively and sometimes catch more fish. best of luck scott

So long as there isn't a 15 boat entourage trolling the same run (probably applies to awoonga)

as for the adrenalin rush. I reckon i'd need new pants if that happens to me Kayak1

I've only ever trolled at night due to the probability of my casting being rather poor without the benefit of sight. I might try it if i find an open area worth a lash when i go to monduran in january.

    cheers roo
