AIR KNOTS / BRAID LINE
DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT CAUSES AIR KNOTS IN BRAID LINE. WAS USING FIRELINE AND PROGRESSIVELY CHANGED ALL MY LINES TO DAIWA TD SENSOR AS I WAS CONSTANTLY GETTED KNOTTED UP AND WRITING OFF METRES OF LINE. I THOUGHT THE DAIWA STUFF MIGHT BE BETTER, BUT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM LAST TRIP WITH A FRESSH SPOOL OF LINE.
THE PROBLEM IS CONSISTENTLY ON MY DAIWA CAPRICORN 2000 REELS AND NOT ON THE BAITCASTERS. IS IT BECAUSE OF LINE TWIST.

Re: AIR KNOTS / BRAID LINE
I found the PE braid in light strain (4-6lb) is just too limp to use on a threadline. I had heaps of trouble with the Nitlon PE is 6lb on a 2500 stradic. Went back to fireline and having no probs now. The strength on the PE seems closer to it's actual rating too. 4-6lb fireline is probably close to 10-12lb in the PE, in both strength and diameter. So maybe going a little heavier than normal in PE would help.

Re: AIR KNOTS / BRAID LINE
Reduce the amount of line on the spool. You get more air knots if the spool is loaded up near the rim. You should also make a retrieve tight through your fingers every dozen casts or so.

I've found that with Platypus 95% of the air knots can be easly pulled out, most of the time with Fireline the knot will lock up and you'll never get it out.

THANKS FOR THE HELP GUYS. THE SPOOL WAS INFEACT FULLY RESPOOLED AND CLOSE TO THE SPOOL LIP, BUT IT ISN,T NOW. I LIKE THE IDEA OF THE TIGHT LINE RETRIEVE.
