Just found out the Awoonga Houseboats have had a cancellation at the last minute and the HB is available for 7 nights 11th to 18th of november.
We are going to be there for the next week and it's available after we leave on the 10th.
Ross and Michelle run a great show and the HB is awesome to stay in for convenience when you're fishing the dam.
If you can get a group together and head up for those dates then call Ross & Michelle on 07 49750930 during business hours. they are really easy going folks to deal with and can help you out with anything you might need.
So a cracker opportunity if you can make it at short notice!!
Hi we heard it was $250 a day and $30 an hour for every hour you used the motor which makes a really expensive trip unless you take a footy team.
Good luck with your fishing if you go up- just watch up for the usual case of tripple bookings - it was the worst of all time there on the weekend - i've seen it all now.
$250 a day + $30 hr is not too bad really. You would hardly clock up many hours would you? My thoughts are you would anchour up, use the houseboat as a mothership to avoid the ramp and camping problems. Would take my tinny and use it to fish and explore then home to the floating camp for a few coldies and a feed.
Even if you did 2 hrs a day total cost would still only be $310 a day split between 3 mates. $103-33.333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333 a day each is bloody cheap if prices are correct.
Are the booking problems only with the camp area or the houseboat as well?
Wish I could get away but can't at the moment
Thanks for the info anyway, Kev
We planned on just the 2 of us paying for the boat so it was $125 each etc compared to $10 camping - and we didn't have a boat at the time so we would clock up lots of hours fishing time etc.
If you get a heap of mates and use it as a mother ship thats probably the best way to go - as long as your mates don't snore too much ha
If you find out the current costs let us know please.
The bookings are really bad for all camp and caravan sites and have been for the last 2 years. We had 2 caravans popped right in front of us and they had to run cords through our cabin to get power - we paid for the cabin and extra space that comes with it so we were not happy being double booked for the 5th time ha. We met 10 people who said they were double booked the other day there.
It's a lovely spot so when you book we suggest you say to the girl on the phone "this is my booking number 100 and if anyone is in the boat or camp spot you will have to move them" thats when we are doing from now on.
All the best and we wish you well with your trip and fishing.
