    Lake Samsonvale Sundown Photo comp

Due to Shayne's supreme orgamanisational skills and the generosity of Sundown Marine in supporting our recent clean up bash, we have now to decide who has posted the best photo of the day.
Please take the time (anyone, not just those who were there on the day) to check out the photos posted and vote for the photographer that you think took the best pic.
Here's a link to the thread.

Please post to tell us which pic you think is the best too.
Once we get a winner, we'll announce the prizes.
    Cheers, Karl.
PS. this poll will run for a week as of today.

    Its a hard decision mate

I like 2 shots, one from yourself and one from Dazza but I am in both of the pics

The scenic shots you took are good too Karl but would have been soo much better if taken at sun-up so will have to go for a action shot i think

I like Dazza's pic of me fighting my first bass cause it shows a nice bend in my rod as well as something on the surface just under the arch of the rod and your shot of me fighting the sliver cause you caught it jumping maybe going to have to sit and think about it latter on when i have a bit more time to ponder [smiley=beatnik.gif]

Please no one vote for any of the smoking shots!!!!!! Lol...

    cheers N

looked like a good day, just a question about canoedles' photos, the one titled The Bubblers, could i ask what these are?. I have not seen these before but im guessing it has to do with aeration,

Spot on mate, they are there to reduce the blue green algae, maybe Myles or one of the other blokes who were there on the weekend could give a better explanation of how it works.

I'll have to go with Karl's photo

    Daz,
Why not Karl did, twice!!! OK I just made that up. I sort of like the first light one because of the colour and contrast but I purposely disqualified myself from the contest, not that it would have mattered as there are quite a few better shots taken on the day.

As to the bubblers according to Ian the ranger at the dam, they cost about $15000.00 a month in diesel to run and their role is to move cold water from the bottom of the dam to the surface reducing overall water temp. Apparently blue green algae blooms at around 23 -24 degrees so they try to keep below that temp. I think wind also helps stop the process as well.

Obi-wan, I think its a little late for that now

Dazza no harm in voting for yor own shot mate!! If I had a camrea on the day I probablly would have voted for my own shot

Nice work shayne again good info on the bubblers too!! I can't believe they spend 15g a month running it!! no wonder diesel is soo expencive in Brisbane

good point myles!! we should have taken one to show everyone just how much we managed to collect!!! Wasn't much room left in the tray of the rangers truck once we were finished

    Myles,
Again thanks to Justin down at Sundown Marine for the packs. Both packs contain a hat, a limited edition Jackall lure and a Jarvis walker Digital Watch. The random draw pack also has the famous Adam Royter, "flathead are flat, they live on the ground, da, da, da,da, de, de, dum" Soft Plastic DVD. The random draw will be performed by my 14 month old, basically names on bits of paper scattered on the longue room floor, the first one I can rescue from his mouth prior to being swallowed is the winner.
