Looking at trying the barra at lake monduran early Feb. Never fished there before so any helpful info would be appreciated. ie recomended lures (casting/trolling), hot spots, other species etc.

Its a big Dam
best you talk to the guys at the c'van park to get the local goss. keep an eye out here as well.
obviously water temp makes a big difference and it can be too hot and they can be a bit sookey and be sitting on the bottom in deep water.
Have fun but
cheers

Re: Lake Monduran
Gday Hornet 445! Monduran can be a bit hard to fish for Barra in January, February if casting for em….. Especially if you are new to the dam!!! Not that they can’t be caught tho….. and next year may be different. Give this site a hit a few days before you go for any updates. Would not feel comfortable giving you forward advice as this weather pattern of late is weird. Last February deep divers and lipless cranks worked OK casting for us anyway! While the trollers got a few on mid range and deep divers of most Barra lure types like Scorpions, Poltergeists, Vipers , Classic Barra, etc. Plenty of Catfish in the dam with cricket score catch’s common if using bait . Both catfish & Bass can be caught casting or trolling smaller type lures. Some regular fisho’s troll spinner baits for bass there as well.
Cheers Les
