    Re: Helicon Reels

Dazd, you can see a review of the Helicon in last months Queensland Fishing Monthly or check out the Fishing Monthly web page on the 'Tinkering With Tackle page' and scoll back as it was discussed. I bought one for $200.00 from MO tackle. I notice the latest MO Tackle catalogue does not list the Helicon but if you ring them they may still be able to get you one at that price. Very solid reel and it has a long cast spool. If you are going to use a long rod to cast long distance with it then ask John Softly, the moderator at 'Tinkering With Tackle', to send you a "breakaway canon", which is a device that holds the line instead of your finger with a threadline reel and allows you to put much more power into the cast.
    good reel/good price - Andrew.
