    abu EON reels

Gidday All, I am looking for any info or feed back on the performance of the ABU eon range of baitcasters. They do not appear to be very popular in the Darwin area and would like to know if this is same else where and why?

    any replies would be appreciated

    Cheers 8)

ABU Eon are not popular because they are tough enough for BIG Barra.

A mate took one up to Cape York, after believing the hype in the ads. The planetary drag is not up to the job.

When he got back he sold the ABU and got a Diawa CVZ253.

Locky - got 2 Eons now. Have a 5600 I use as my dedicated jack / barra out fit. Spooled with 30lb whiplash has performed very well in the 2 1/2 years I owned it. Casts like a dream. Bought a second hand 3600 on ebay that I plan to spool with 12lb braib for a bit of fresh / light salt work.
    I'm happy. [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Reckon ya should just stick to the normal abus.

mainly due to repairs. If you have lived a while in Darwin like I have then you will know the dramas involved with ordering parts from down south and the legnth and cost involved. Most if not all the tackle shops up here have pretty much got every part for an old abu.
A reel you can use more catches more fish not a shinny one sitting on the desk waiting for a bearing.

5600c4 mate the best value for money, I have been trying really hard to break one for about 10+ years it still works, so I bought a new one.
