    replacing a metal reel seat?

    The reel seat glue on a 24kg livefibre o/h has partly let go, the result is under load the reel and reel seat twisting about if only it would come fully unstuck ??? ideally id just slide it off and reglue is it an angle grind job? any help??

    You could heat it up with a heat gun and then re glue.
    Or better still, strip the rear grip and replace both with better quality fittings.

    Drill....1 or 2mm
    Syringe....vetinary type unless you can get one a tad bigger .
    Aroldite, 24 hr type
    or resin. Think ide prefer the Araldite
    Drill your holes arond the circ of the rel seat where they wont bother or affect the workings of it.
    Line it up as should be or pump your resin in under the seat via the use of the syringe and line up the seat then.
    You may have to get the Aroldite /resin nice n runny(bit of heat) so it can run through the syringe ey.
    Has worked for me in the past on the odd occasion.
