Rod and Reel Combos - Northern Territory

Hi All,
Heading to Qld and Nt - Karumba,Darwin ,Katherine etc in July and wondered what gear to take. Have Barra outfit - What else does anyone suggest I take for general all round fishing .Have boat rods and reels but not much in the way of other stuff as I mainly fish in the Darling River. Thanks for your help.

Plenty of lures and poppers and a couple of my favourites are Halco Laser Pros and R.M.G. Scorpions. Another lure that I have had some success with is Yo-Zuri,Hydro Series, a popper.That is what has been good for me,mainly in the Territory and the Kimberly,s.Mate there are literally dozens of lures that would be well worth taking. One other popper that has been good to me is one called Bucket Mouth made of timber.I got a few from Mo Tackle some years ago.These are just a few to get you started and I hope you have a good trip.Cheers.

Hello mate,

I would suggest that you take a beefy spin rod and high speed spinning reel - you lucky bugger - I'm itching to get up that way - I would give an arm and a leg - on second thoughts I would'nt give an arm - might affect my casting
