I have a 7ft Wilson Soveriegn graphite 2-4 kg with a Daiwa Samurai - i7 2500 reel.
I also have a custom made live fibre 7ft rod 2-4kg that needs a reel. I am thinking it will also get a Samurai 2500
I want to flick soft plastics at bream around the rocks and plastics, spinner baits at bass & saratoga in the dams.
Should I go for Braid or Mono and what strengnth

I'm with Sominc on that one. Braid gives you much more feel, and the ability to have direct control over the twitches and jerks needed to work those softies.
i some what agree with everyone with fire line but for bream soft plastics work 4lb fire line with 8lb vanish leader 8' of
bream lure tossing and majority of your bass 6lb fire line with 10lb vanish leader and for a heaver bass or big bream stick i would not go over 8lb and 14lb vanish leader
i have found 10lb drastical reduces your cast distance and if fish right you should be able to pull fish just as hard on 8lb fireline as you would with 10lb
these are the set up i use and the only time i lose fish and lure is when i'm casting right over oyster racks or rocks as for bass i'm yet to lose a lure and bass to a snag (to bad knots maybe )
Thanks for all the info
Seems braid is the go & there is a real trend towards the Fireline
I have bought the reel, Daiwa Samurai 7i 2500, and a spool of 4kg Shogun mono, and a spool of 12 pound Platypus Super Braid. 1 for each spool supplied with the reel
Will get it all set up and go give it a go
The winds aren't looking real good for the weekend but >
