I dont mind following and laughing each time you hit a sand bar, might even take the camera so get some footage !!
It won't be as busy as Brisbane ramps.... there are 2 big ass ramps ( 3 - 4 lane ) and pontoons. Plenty of parking and rigging area. As posted above..... Bait & Ice ( bulk ) at ramp facility. as well as fuel, donuts, Iced Vo Vos and they even sell " cement " by the teaspoon :P :)
There is a reasonable servo at the corner of Boat Harbour Drive and Main Street at the round-about. ( Urraween ) Allows you to fill up and shoot around the back of the servo and back onto Boat Harbour Drive utilizing the round about........ about 8k's before the ramp at Urangan. after that there is only 2 fuel stops, one at the ramp and another mongrel access one at Woollies shopping centre..... I believe the Unity servo is open 24 /7, which is located on the left hand side coming into the bay, as you come down the last hill... before the road veers right. ( that would be on the Hervey Bay rd, just before the Pialba-Burrum Heads Rd turn off. )
anything else ????????????
OH...... OK, we might make our start a little later as I am sleeping in Maryborough Friday night and it is a 25 minute drive to the Bay.
OK,,,more.
Live Bait. There are 2 beacons at the top of Big Woody, no that is not Perry's dongle, :P
25.16.030........152.55.679 & 25.15.870........152.56.264. always worth droppiong a jig there, but if you see me heading that way... scram :P :) :)
Once you round Moon Point and set ya compass to where ya heading, keep an eye on the sounder around the Coongul Creek area, as there is coffee rock about that holds bait as well.

Thanks for the general marks for the bar, But the conditions will need to be good before I head through it..
Cheers

Re: Hervey Bay M&G 23rd Nov.
Brett, you could actually beach the boat on Fraser and walk it about 100 meters to the east side of the spit.... on a good day. Bit of surf to get through, but it can be done... :)

Re: Hervey Bay M&G 23rd Nov.
I'm so sick of looking at the weather forecast over the past few days and to be honest I don't believe it will be all that great offshore but the need for a fish has got the better of me and all of you by the sounds of it;D
With tomorrow looking like the best day I'm going to pack the boat when I get home and head up tonight. A few hours sleep at the ramp, head out early and hopefully reach the top of Fraser just on light tomorrow morning. ;)
I'm a little concerned we might get a good storm thursday afternoon which could make things interesting. :o
Speak to you all up there..Call sign "Double or Nothing" or Reefmaster.
Cheers
Greg

Brett - can I draw your attention to Phill's previous post.....Bait & Ice ( bulk ) at ramp facility. as well as fuel, donuts, Iced Vo Vos and they even sell " cement " by the teaspoon :P:)

Bruce. I want you to review the entire thread and this time take study notes
"I think we can sit on VHF 21 for general calling. Use 22 to login when crossing the Bar with either VMR 466 Hervey Bay login on 73, or VMR 488 Bundaberg (they also cover 80 & 81)."
