Coffs Harbour

Will be spending next week at Coffs with family. Besides pilgrimage to MoT, the self proclaimed largest tackle store on the planet, just wondering whether there is anywhere else worth a visit apart from the usual suspects listed in tourist brochures. This is not a fishing trip but would still be nice to make a few casts here and there when the opportunity presents itself ;). Any land base suggestions? What about charters suitable for families? Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks.
