Righto, me and a mate are getting a few days off and wanna go camping. Somewhere were we can have a fire/tent/fishing/4x4/FREE ;D
Can anyone suggest a spot that has all these things? give or take a few luxuries.

you could go on bribie but you will have to pay for a site from N.P and Wildlife.

surely there must be some spots on the caboolture river.
i can remember many years ago there were some big grassy banks somewhere on the river.
must be a local on here somewhere
just remember any national parks have fire bans in place so Bribie does not tick that box. Not too many around that permit fires anymore.

You can camp on Bribie at mission point and have a fire.Take your own wood of course. The only way to get there is by boat though. Most of us leave the cars at Donnybrook and motor over to the campsites. Sites 1-4 are excellent, thats the only place I kjnow of around here where you are permitted fires.

Coochin creek has a couple of ungazetted campsites on the southern bank. Access is via the pine forests and you will have to do some reckoning for which trail leads where, its not hard to do just keep heading ENE from the moby vics servos.
Bells Creek used to yrs ago but i havent laid eyes on them in the last 10 yrs.
Jack has the best bet mate, I had a buck's party on the banks of Coochin creek not 2 months ago;) Lots of 4x4 tracks lots of fishing and good camping spots! GPS helps get around the merid of tracks in there if you have one. I made a map up for my mates to find the way in for the bucks, I will send it to you in a pm (don't tell too many of this spot!!) oh and of course make sure you take all your rubish away with ya:) .
I would walk the last section of this track before driving it though... I pulled a mate out 2 weeks ago... he was in a stock 4 runner and his diffs were burried 3inches into the mud :-X

Sorry about the late reply, i havent been able to get to a computer for a while due to crap happening in the house.
Probably wont be able to get to bribie since we dont have a boat.
I've had a couple of people steering me towards Coochin and Noosa, so i'll probably try one of those areas out.
Anyhow i'll let you all know which one we choose. Im so pumped! First camping trip in about 4 years!

there's a couple if little sneaky spots down along the southern banks of the caboolture river mouth and also burpengary creek, drive down uhlman road, seek and ye shall find. there's also a couple of spots along the beachmere side down towards baker's flats. you wouldn't camp for a week in any of these spots but for an overnight mission you'd get away with it.
