line runners

G'day
I'm currently doing up an old rod and i am putting new line runners on it. Does anyone know any methods of easily applying them.

get some hot glue and melt a bit to tack them in place then bind over with runner thread (most tackle shops will have it) and bind over atleast three times once down and up and down again you will need to bind atleast 1cm past the end of the runner after that exopiy over the top and a coat or two of clear varnish ;D
