in the light stuff, say 4-12 lb its great, but really performs after it has been worked a little - in the heavy stuff say 15lb up i really dont like it at all - its too crisp and crunchy and brittle for my liking - casting the heavy stuff would be a nightmare i reckon, but for bream, u cant got wrong.

i use the 20lb fire line on my fresh water baitcaster for murry cod/yellas and wouldn't go past it also have an over head set up with it and you can feel everything with it, but it does not like abrassive objects as it will break very easy on rough surfaces

I love the stuff. I have 6lb on a light theadline, 10lb on a med baitcaster, 14lb on a TSS4, 20lb on a 850ss and on a heavy baitcaster. I think it breakes way over stated line class. You have to work it a bit before it behaves itself. Most of mine is up to 5 years old.

Wouldnt use anything else for bream in the 4-8lb line classes. Havent really used it for any other purpose.

I am also one of the converted. On my light gear I have 6lb in the green fluro type colour. Would definately recommend the bright variety as you are already going to use a leader so may as well make it easy on yourself and get a colour that you can see easily. Unless it was a monster, I would be pretty confident in even the 6lb to bring in big fish.
Still use mono on my heavier gear, but for different reasons. ie, the light gear I want to get to the bottom easily and with minimum lead, and feel everything. The heavier gear at the moment am chasing middle feeding fish and like the float and the spring in mono. May change but giving the mono a good go at the moment.
Don't know about the heavier classes but if I went for braid on the heavier gear I would go Fireline simply based on my experience with it on the light gear. I love the stuff.

I USE 60LB FIRELINE OKUMA BAITRUNNER BUT IT IS THE GREEN STUFF WHICH IS ALOT MORE SUPPLE THAN THE SMOKE I ALSO HAVE 50 ON MY BOTTOM GEAR WHICH IS STRONG ENOUGH TO PULL A 25 FOOT FIBERGLASS BOAT THROUGH THE WATER ONLY THING I FIND WRONG WITH IT IS THAT IT WILL CUT YOU TO THE BONE IF YOU ARE IN THE HABBIT OF FEATHERING THE LINE WHEN YOU GET A GOOD RUN ON A LIVIE THIS I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE AND IT HURTS IT WILL CUT YOU DEEP BEFORE YOU EVEN FEEL IT :GOODOO
