View Full Version : Koden CVS-118 or Furuno FCV-600L?

have a cvs-118 myself 2years old find it verygood have it setup as through hull transducer( through glass hull) not in direct contact with water and have been as fare as 100m but 85-90m and it reads fine doing 30kn.
know that furruno 6000 not shore of prefix but the 6000 is the same unit .
apples and oranges which do you like ?
both very good brands, with similar functions just buttons deffer.
he wouldn't be dissapointed

I'm making this posting for a mate without a computer.

He is upgrading from a Lowrance LMS350 and wants to make the jump to colour. He fishes inside the reef in central Queensland. Maximum depth is not such an issue with 100m depth being extremely rare.

Most of his fishing is for red emperor etc in wire weed / fern.
He has his choice narrowed down to either the Koden CVS-118 or the Furuno FCV-600L. If anyone has had an opportunity to compare these units in practice your feedback would be greatly appreciated.
