i've got the sqidgy 7' spin w/shimano sahara 1500 4lb fireline and a 5'11" penn pinpoint baitcaster w/ abu 4600c4 reel. 8lb fireline. have been running 10lb vanish on both as a leader but am going to downsize on the spin combo as i think the albright is a little chunky for the guides.
otherwise i am happy with both though i wish i had thought to get green fireline on the sahara. the tackle shop was all out, only had it in smoke. the baitcaster has green and it really makes a difference in picking up when you are on the bottom and registering hits on the drop etc.

My favourite would have to be an Abu T500F on Daiwa Procaster-V, 6lb fireline, 20lb leader :). Good for hardbodies and plastics in freshwater streams and some estuary situations. Main targetted species are sooties, tarpon, gaint herring, and JPs. Some clown stole the Abu reel last year so I'm using a Shimano Alivio 1000 now >:(.

Raef, i thought you sold your a finesse a few months back?
Cant blame ya if ya didnt though. Ive got a few myself and there unreal. What model do you have?
I use 2 outfits for soft plastic work.
My first for ultra light plastics is a heartland z finesse special 601mlxs-s solid slim model, perfect for 1/32-1/16th oz heads and a lift and drop retrieve with a softer tip. Ive got this teamed to a daiwa capricorn 1500 and 4lb fireline
The second is heartland z 631 finesse special magnum taper model. Got a faster stiffer tip ideal for larger jigheads or retrieves with alot of movement in them that need a stiff tip for recoevery. Its teamed to a daiwa capricorn 2000 with 4lb fireline.
Might as well say my hardbody rod to.
Thats a heartland z jerking special 601lrs teamed up with a capricorn 2000 and 6lb fireline.
Can you tell i love my jap rods ;D
Soon to be added to the collection is a g loomis IMX SR842-2 7' 4-8lb just to add a bit of variety to the collection.
Im getting it custom built with a short butt and downlocking reel seat. Coudlnt resist this model when it popped up and the price was very good :o

Scorchy, That IMX sr842 -2 is a really shithot rod, ihave had tha opportunity to use one once before, fell in love with it but couldnt justify forking out the big $$$$ for one.
I never sold the Heartland Z finesse special. It caught me so many good fish, and still continues to this day - i think its the best small plastics rod invented. the model i have is a 601LFS-Sti - its a Ti version, Solid slim with full fuji SIC guides -its a brilliant rod and has become rare and in very high demand.
I luv the japanese rods aswell, but I think the next jap rod i will cough up on will be a Megabass Destroyer hahahahah, yeah right keep dreamin buddy

G Loomis s842-2 IMX with Shimano Stella 1000 and 4lb fireline
G Loomis P8400 GL3 with Team Daiwa S2500CU with 10lb Penn Pro Power braid. This reel will soon be replaced with a Daiwa Certate 2500R Custom. I can't wait. It will probably be filled with either 6lb fireline or Squidgy Braid, or some other gelspun line. Not sure yet, but can't wait to get my hands on this little beauty once it gets here (it's on back order, none left in Australia apparrently).
Cheers :)

I have two light outfits, one is what I refer to as the
$2 rod as it cost my wife $2 at Kmart on clearance.
It is a Shimano nibble tip 7' 1-3 kg and fitted out with a small Shaksphere spin reel and 4lb fire line. I have cut approx 3" of the butt of the handle.
Every one that has used it loves it.

My pet is a 6'6 struddy SPS 1-3 kg with a Shimano Sedona 1500 and 4lb fire line.
Great little rod and reel. :) :)

Only just getting into plastics so haven't bought anything specific. I'm using a 6'6' Jarvis Walker Gen X GXP 5601 and an Abu 5000 loaded with 6lb Platypus. So far I've only fished with shads and have caught each trip. Intend to learn more about it.
cheers

7ft Samuari 001, Alconite single foot guides, teamed with a Diawa Kastor 1500. Spools with 4 & 6 lb fireline. Handles the 30-32cm breambos fine. Those bloody GT's get it creaking though ;D
