Morning All,

I am wanting to grab a baitrunner for snapper fishing, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with competator products?

Specifically I would like to know if Shimano baitrunner is the best, or if there are compatator reels with the baitrunner (of course called something different as thats a trademark, like everything else with Shimano ;) ) feature that are better.

What does better mean? Better drag, better water resistance, detter durability, smoother operaiton, better features etc.

Thanks guys

Glen ???

Most reel manufacturers have a bait runner type of reel. All feel nice out of the box, but it is how they behave after 6 months or more of use that counts.

Simply can not substitute quality for price I'm afraid.

Thanks Heath, I completely agree.

Do you know of anything better than the shimano baitrunner? I dont mind paying more for a better reel.

Thanks

Glen

OK well that seems to say that they are well regarded which is very helpful. I would pay more though if there was something better, but if 220 is all I need to outlay for the best then great!

Thanks

Glen

I've used my 6500 Shimano job for years and love it. Modified it with some TSS4 gears and now it does both jobs, spinning and bottom fishing. Mick

I have both Shimano BR and Penn liveliner and they are both great products. Penn is heavier and feels like it can take heavier job easier. I love both of them. Penn is a bit more expensive.
