I would suggest you get some pickling paste and put it on the welded place (all darkened area, Pic 2), leave it there for a while and than wash away.
Otherwise corrosion will start there.

wow westie,

a dolphin lasso.

Should sell well to those countries who do "scientific" culling of our marine cousins.

I want one!!

Have been thinking about something like that for a while. Have a glass boat so would be handy when coming in to shore for the deckie to be able to step off before running into the beach. My partner also has trouble getting into the boat. That would be great for her.

How did you connect to the bollard?

Is it all out of stainless? Not the easiest to do in the backyard.

I wondered how much load there would be on the 90 elbow.

Cheech....weight factor no problems 316 S/Steel the right angle and is reinforced. The locking section into the Bollard is 3mm X 20mm welded into the end of the tube with a grove cut out to slide the pin through and this stops it from sideways movement.
close up photos are available so long as you don't pick on the welding

I've been looking for something like that to encourage my wife to get into the boat. Prefers to go off the front of boat but tends to bruise up or otherwise injure herself due to short legs and long drop from bobbing boat. This would work a treat! How much to rig one up?

How much is it worth!!!!!!!!! to have a woman stop complaining about how much money we spend on Accessories on our boats just to make things more enjoyable on the water and to let her see that this is JUST FOR YOU darling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D Priceless :D

Some close up I hope they help. The step it self is welded to a tube and that slips the other this allows it to be lengthened or shortened. As for making them ....Read post prior tp this one !!!!
