UPDATE ON MY PURCHASE WALKED INTO SHOP TOLD SALES MAN WHAT I WANTED, HE THEN ASKED WHY WOULD I BUY THE 2 UNITS WHEN I CAN SAVE ABOUT $700 IF I WAS TO BUY THE COMBO. SO AFTER LOOKING AT EVERY FEATURE FOUND ON THE 3500 AND X107 THE LOWRANCE LMS337CDF COMBO WAS AN IDENTICAL UNIT AT A CONSIDERABLE SAVING. NOW IVE JUST GOT TO INSTALL IT!

Good luck with it mate. Don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but I just had to bring a 337 back from Cooktown on the weekend. Its a mates combo and he has had a lot of problems with it already, and its only 4 months old. Just have a good look at how well the face plate fits over the map card. Be very careful here as the seal is not good and moisture has caused a few problems here. He has aslo had the intermeadiate lead changed once and the 60 ohm plug has also been replaced. This time not sure what the prob is, still waiting for it to be sorted out.

Cheers and good luck

Ron

IMHO i'm not a big fan of sounder/gps combos (for bluewater work fine in a bass boat)
i think that haveing stand alone units are better as you have a bigger screen to look at while underway and searching also if one does pack it in your still got another unit to help you navergate and fish
GPS via marks and waypoints and sounder via depth readings and singnals)

I'm also picking up a X107C DF today but have a bit of a problem with placement of transducer. I have a Signature 1950L which has the unusual cut-away section at the stern and I'm not too sure as to where I should mount the TD - any clues?

Just got the verdict on my mate 337 combo, it appears that the intermeadiate cable has crapped out again. This now makes it one cable every two months. Hope this isn't a continuing problem.

Wonder if it is a lemon or reflective of the model in general [smiley=huh2.gif]
You wouldn't believe it, I was halfway through downloading the simulator & manual for this model, when I read this thread :o
I know most people say go two seperate units, but I don't really have the room.
Anyone else had experiance (good or bad) with this or any other similar units?

cheers,
Owen

got a 3500 and 107 seem ok first off I had a 102 but it crapped itself and they replaced it with a 107 as they had no 102 in stock. the money was the only reason I went with lowrance I still like the garmin stuff better
