My mate just purchased a TR200G Shimano for $100. Basic reel, but for the price and the 10 year warranty not bad.

Sounds like you have not used overheads much, so going with the level wind is a good idea and yes they are a good reel usually at a good price but don't forget to shop around and be prepared to haggle. A lot of times this reel is offered as a combo (with a rod), usually the rods are not much but its a start.
A word of warning with level winds keep your fingers clear as the level wind lays the line or line comes off the reel, I had the unfortunate experience of being hammered whilst dropping down, excitedly went to grab the outfit to strike and got my little finger jammed in between the level wind and the side plate. Fortunately the 30lb line broke. Had to get the screw driver and lever my finger free. Exciting but painful, lesson learned. Damm I wish I had of seen that fish!!!
Hope this is usefull.
Enjoy your fishing

The 330gti is a great reel but has one drawback for new users, after every use make sure you oil the levelwind worm and pawl. If you do this the reel will be trouble free for years and be a pleasure to use, if you don't you may find yourself with a hefty repair bill ($60 - $80) when the pawl and worm wear abnormally and fail on a big fish. I have seen them fail in as little as 6 months with reasonable use. Also have the reel serviced every 6 - 8 months if you are using it a couple of times or more a month.
