i know that snapbacks are popular up that way, from 3-5in. in charturese?? white and the more natural colours. Paul Dolan uses them exclusively for his buisness. use tt jigheads. apparently they work around the roy rufus arty.
cheers
BTW, if u try them, let me know how u go. my fiance lives in mboro, so am up there fishing quite regularly.

Snapbacks are awesome!! I have used them for mackrel and tailor virtually unbreakable/untearable. Hard to get onto the jighead though but worth the effort. One snapback caught me 16 tailor from the gold coast seeway without tearing once. I am surprised the media don't talk about them more.

Yeah Damon they should, They could call the piece tailor terrorism, the rise of the suicide tailor! Combating tailor with tailor seeking missles ;) Of course I meant the fishing media in my earlier post :)

Hi Insanefisho,

This trip we used electric chicken on a 3/4oz TT head with 7/0 hook. Have had success there with the pink, texas red and blue glimmmer so unsure if colour really matters or not? Change your jig head weight to suit the current as it really rips through there. Have gone to 1oz and 1.5oz too. We have had most success with these sp by anchoring and free spooling them back with the current. I fish with a baitcaster with 300m of 30lb braid and at times reckon I get up to 150m of line out before a fish hits. The sp never gets to the bottom, so the fish are obviously feeding high in the water column. Not big fish with the biggest to about 4kg, and most around half that. Good eating though, and good fun. Get the odd rat king and trevally just to spice things up a bit to. Haven't been doing the sp thing all that long up there, so am keen to keep trying there and other spots around the bay.

Dave.
