A mate of mine wants to catch and have a wall mount of an 18-20kg saltwater barra. Does anybody know who or where and how much it is likely to cost and what quality of workmanship is available? any comments would be great.

Rod Gardiner in Yamba Mobile: 0428544841 I think your looking at a five or six hundred to have it done. There was good article on him in NSW Fishing sept issue.

Johnny, you're in CQ right?
I'm in Rockhampton, there's a guy in North Rocky who does taxidermy. Paul Vize (07) 4928 1291 give him a call.

Look in the office at the Awoonga caravan camping park. There is a mount of a barra there that is outstanding. Enquired about it and they gave me a card. Done by skins alive John Ruiz Ph 0418 228197 web: www.skinsalive.com.au . Told the mount was about 900 dollars. Better of ringing him to get a price. May cost a little bit extra but it is definitely worth it when you see his work. There is another mount further back in the tackle shop by someone else but there is nowhere near the same quality

we have seen the one in the awoonga caravan park. Thats the one that sparked my mate into wanting one done. he wants a saltwater fish mount of a 20 kg fish as he thinks these are just the bees knees!
I just checked his website, thanks. and yes, i/we live in CQ.
thanks,
johnny

Don't go to a guy called Peter Robinson, I am still waiting for a cod head I put to get done 10yrs ago, it's now become embarassing to ring up to see if it's ready :-[

Daintreeboy,
It is hard to read exprexssion in posts as they have no tone!
I thought the smilies were the give away, but wasn't too sure.
Cheers, Johnny .

I live in Rockhampton too and I rang the bloke in Nth Rocky and asked how much it would cost to have a large muddie mounted. He said it would be two hundred dollars. And then I asked him how much it would be to do a 10kg king salmon. $1,000.00 he said. Yeah right, Seeya.

this is a Bass, first one for the person who did it. I thought it looks great.

He has a choice of either 2-d view or 3 d view which this one is. Approx $550.

this was a 2.5 kilo Bass i sent down to him. i did not get it for me i got it done for another person. The only thing he said he did on his next one was make it a tad more silver in colour.

$550 for a 2.5Kg Bass. $1000 for a 10 kilo fish doesn't seem so bad. A lot more work that's for sure !
