G'day all,
Well I'm finally got a seat on a boat to go out off the Tweed on Thursday and was wondering if YOU would use this type of gear,
Rod.... Jarvis Walker Ultra Power .. lenght 1.8m line class 3-7kg
Reel... Oquma QF 80 (yes I know oquma) loaded with 20lb mono.

ok that what I have
I believe we will be doing some botton bashing and maybe chasing a mack or 2.
being on a pension and very short on cash at the moment should I try to borrow something a bit heavier or go with what I have????

P.S. I don't really like to borrow other peoples gear if I can get out of it because you never know when something is going to happen :'(
any input will be a help

Andrew, it sounds a bit light for bottom bashing. But it should do the job for a spotty mack or floatlining a snapper. What i'd suggest is borrow some heavier gear and take your gear as well. If you end up fishing quite deep water at least youll have gear up to the task. But if they only fish the shallower grounds you maybe able to use your own setup. good luck and enjoy yourself...foxy
