BCF are selling these on special for $175 however if you go down to the store that can't be named they will have to beat the price by 10% so you can pick them up for $157.50 which is only a fraction above cost.

Last time I was in that particular store (@ Mitchelton) they had TLD20's for $165 and TLD15's for $155. Since these are already cheaper, they don't have to beat a competitor's price by 10% as I understand it. I'm not even sure if they would beat the $175 for a TLD 25, as they've already matched it, and are not not advertising it as more expensive.

Be interesting to find out for sure though...

Good luck,
Mike

You will get the same price on the 15, 20 or 25 as they have to beat the BCF price by 10% and BCF are selling all these models for $175.

Snakecatcher - doesn't seem to be the case - see the attachment. It reads to me that if a competitor has a better price, they'll beat it by 10%. If they (the mart store) already has a lower/same price they don't.

This is what I was (clumsily) trying to say in my post above. I suppose it depends on what your local store currently has them priced at, but at the Mitchelton store in the example above it wouldn't strictly apply if the attachment is worded correctly, and the staff understand this. Which is of course a debateable point.

Good luck,
Mike

Mike,

You are correct in your understanding if $mart has the same item at a lower or the same ticketed price they don't have to beat the competitors price however at my local $mart store they had the TLD's price at $219 so they would definitely have to beat the price at BCF by 10%. $Mart used to mark their stock down to beat the competitors price by a dollar so they didn't have to do the 10% thing but I am reliably informed that they aren't doing that anymore as they reckon most punters won't do their homework before going into the store.

As an example I bought a new icebox yesterday, local store had it at $295 $mart at $299 so I walked out with one for $265.

Cheers

Mike
