spin combo help

hi all,
i am looking at buying a rod and real to be used primarily for spinning for mackrell and other toothy critters. i have been looking getting a diawa emcast sport 6000 reel and putting it on either a berkley dropshot spn 700 7-10kg or if i can scratch up the $$$ a 8' live fibre8-10kg spin. does anyone have any ideas on a different setup?

The live fibre and daiwa heartland range are great value rods for what your after. I don't have either in the weight range you are after but the ones I have are impressive. Go to your tackle store and have a play with them. I suspect you'll be impressed.

I picked up a Penn Sport and matched it to a Rovex bog boss 7500...very impressed...see the link for my rfeview on it...could be worth considering
