Going to Bribie surfside tomorrow and would love to try some poppers in the surf but what sort of rig do you use.
Do you still need a sinker to get the popper out a long distance or does that just drag it to the bottom?
Any advice much appreciated
Cheers

;D
Pencil popper is the best for the surf , just retrieve the popper fast enough so it skiiters on the surface to imitate garfish's action when chased by predators . Walk the dog action also very effective . :o
Surface chuggers work if you stand above the crest of the wave but can be very tiring to
do with soft tipped rod while using standard GT rod , casting distance may be a bit too short for
surf casting . :-?
Adding sinker may work if you put it at the tail of the popper so as to add weight for sling shot casting but to heavy of this additional weight may hamper the popper's action . :-[
