g'day, where can i buy bulk jigheads. i'm really impressed with the tt range but 8 bucks for 5 gets a bit expensive. especially when you have friends in the boat! my main target at the moment is flathead and i'm using 1/8 oz 2/0 hooks, that with a 3' plastic. alos wanna try 4' and 5' plackkys for the bigger ones around which jighead would suit the bigger plackkys in a minnow style?
cherrs
in advance

Try ebay. Just type in jig heads
If you want to jig hooks fairly cheap try Cabelas mail order from the States. They also have the moulds so you can make up your own if you want. You can also get the moulds from "do-it molds" in Canada I think.
Just don't make the mistake I did of ordering a heap of SP's from the states that got impounded by Aussie customs and proved to be a costly mistake.
nitro does bulk packs of 16 & 20. i got my last lot from Springwood Marine, but they had to be ordered in.
look here for pricing..http://www.nitrofishing.com.au/Nitro_Bullets.pdf

Make up some of your own ;) I have made them with standard round sinker moulds as well as with split shots!! get some single strand wire trace to use as the bait holder and crimp the splitshot onto the hook and wire :) mould works well too but i can't find a 00 sinker mould anywhere!!!! :'(
You can buy mustard 90% aberdine hooks for $9 for 25 from 1/0 up, or size 1 down is 50 a pack ;)
cheers

They were gulps and atomics that had scent. Customs wanted me to prove that they weren't "natural products". Some of them were exactly the same as what is available on the shelves over here but some weren't available here. The fact that they were available over here carried no weight with customs.
The importers must get some sort of clearance certificate or something.
There was one called a gulp strip bait that I was really keen on trying that isn't available over here.
They also wouldn't let the bottles of scent in either.
Hooks, fluorocarbon, etc. no worries
Cabelas did give me a refund though so it really only cost me about $100 in freight to get them here and send them back.
Cabelas are really good to deal with though, qucik responses to emails and no drama with returning the goods (and no this isn't an ad and I don't work for them!) Customs on the other hand ??

Customs have recently cracked down on soft plastics. Originally, they were concerned about the Americans marking them as "bait". Now they want certification that no "organic" material is contained within the plastic. Suppliers are struggling to supply certification as most plastics have some organic content (particulary Gulps, Power Baits and the like)
re Jig heads: split shots on Aberdeen hooks with wire as keeper seems to be very popular and straight forward. Also try approaching local tackle shops and ask them for best price on a bulk buy of jig heads.
