What are you going to use it for? Beach, boat, off the rocks. I've been thinking about purchasing one as well for beach and boat. Let us know how it goes.

What sort of price range are you looking at? If you are looking at the cheaper end of the market, then you can't go past the Ugly Stiks. Middle of the range would be the Live Fibres. Top of the range.... Well you need a first born and your left one to even try those in the shop ;D

I know Revs57 uses these so would be worth talking to him. Also, go and see Jason Bird at Sundown Marine. He uses/stocks them, and will be able to help you out no problems.

Yep, Dan called it, my BigBoss 7500 loaded with 13.4kg (30lb) sufix matrix pro braid is matched to a 7001 TBHT 10-15kg Penn Sport rod. I'm pretty sure it has a carbon fibre wrap toward the butt. It is absolutely perfectly matched for off shore stuff...my favorite outfit - just love using it. The drag is just so smootly predictable and reliable...very impressed.

I know Penn have released a new range of rods that could be worth checking out too...Damo had one on our last trip...I was quite impressed with the way it performed...he had it matched to a large spinfisher...talk to Birdy at Sundown...32033007...and let him know you're an ausfisher...he'll sharpen the pencil for you

Revs, what poundage line are you running on that?
I was about to put up the exact same post looking for a rod to bottom bash and occasionally jig with but saw this. looking at the 6-7foot mark
