G'day
I'd suggest a 4500 or 6500 shimano baitrunner, highly recommended

If your in Port Phillip Bay you would be chasing Snapper and 9 outa 10 guys down there would be using Baitrunners in 4500 or 6500 loaded with 15 - 20 lb mono there're the only baitrunner to get bar none.

Thanks guys heaps...I have always been told that the shimano baitrunner 6500 is the way to go but the cost of them is too much...Might have to put one on layby or something to pay it off... :)

I have a crappy Baitrunner it's a golden one not to bad but how long it will last i'm not quite sure...

But thanks again guys...

Wait for a sale and go the 6500 Shimano....

?? Is it an overhead rod or spin? In case you did not realise it, you cannot put an overhead on a spin rod. If a spin rod you will have no choice.

I have a 4500 and yes they are a very good real. But there are also quite a few other good spin reels that will do the job if your budget does not stretch to one. May be worth having a look at Mo's tackle on line if you canot find something suitable and in your budget locally. Or perhaps look around and create a short list and then frack down the best price. Shimano and Daiwa are usually considered the best, but there are some quite respectable reels from the othere main brands.

I have the shimano 6500 & diawa regal plus 5000 . The shimano is the better reel, but considering the price difference & performance . The regal
would be the way too go !!!

Keep an eye on the sales around the place, i picked up a 6500 from the "MART" for $168 6 months ago .... BCF had a sale at the same time so the mart paid dearly for not matching them LOL

Dont bother with any other baitrunner, shimano will last forever.
