Golden Overheads????

Has anyone got any info on Golden O/H reels. Seen them on ebay and look OK and are cheap. But never heard of them.????

More then likely Chinese made and if you buy a 1000 of them you can put any name on them...

I brought a 'Rainbow' VO6000 overhead off e-bay just to see what they're like. Never really tested it as I never really got a decent fish with it but the build quality was a lot better then some of 'the lot more expensive' reels in places like 'k-mart' etc. I pulled it apart as soon as I got it and really wasn't too bad at all for the price. Drag was smoooth when tried, everything work as it should but in saying that it isn't a Shimano either.
My rule of thumb is you get what you pay for. ;)

I sort of expected them to be made somewhere like china but unsure what the components would be like ::)

Have settled for a deal from local tackle shop offering a combo deal. Last years models but good gear.

Penn super level wind 5/0 graphite reel combined with a Penn Mariners Plus 24K stand up 5'6". All for $300, yep I'm happy. ;D ;D
