After having spent my hard earned on an expensive jigging outfit i was wondering if anyone knew if there's a company that insures things like fishing gear for a reasonable price and if so who?

I agree with "fish_outta_water", that's the first thing I would check. Over here, and I assume all insurance is similar, we can do it. I had mine added to my boat insurance as an extra $10k of personal property insurance. If that doesn't work you can have it covered under your homeowners policy same as anything else in your house, though you might have to give them a list of all of your big ticket items for value purposes.

Suggest you have your expensive outfit insured as part of your contents insurance, with a specified value and make sure you have "away from home cover".

My regular home contents insurance through CGI covers anything that "normally resides in the house"(and garage)even if it's outside the house for up to 90 days. This allows for if you go on holiday or extended travel. There is a $1500 per item limit so it would cover 95% of us regular baitdrowners as very few of us would own $1500+ rods and reels but if your $1200 Saltiga reel and $600 Saltiga rod combo gets lifted you're covered. Once you meet proof of ownership requirements of coarse.
