It never ceases to amaze me of the diversity of occupations from the fishing fraternity. I have been looking for prescription sunglasses for the past month. What to buy? where? what lens etc. I came across one of our own members 2DKnB alias Dazza who is in the industry.

I contacted Dazza sent my prescription requirements (optained from my optomertrist) and he has replaced the lenses in my Oakley wrap around sunglasses with polarised graduated lenses (I can wear them and read at the same time, instead of having two pair of glasses around my neck). The Oakley company had previously told me this was not possible????

I sent them away to Brisbane and within a week (today) they have returned and they are exceptional. My Optomertrist quoted between $400 and $500 for this service. Dazza did the lot for only$200. Dazza can replace lenses in any sunnies , so please look to support our own if you are in the market for upgrading you lenses. It is much cheaper than buying new lenses and frames.

Thanks for the great plug Murray.
I have just been reading the other thread on sunnies and i am buggerd why people on this site still spend hundreds of dollars on sunnies whether it be prescription ar general sunnies when i can do the same lenses at less than half the retail price.

Murray
Those kids will be in a bit of trouble now you can see up close with your sunnies on ;D ;D

Cheers Dazza

So you do general sunnies as well, not just the prescription ones? but the lenses only? Just so we're all on the same page for this...

Hi Darren

Yes the kids at schools will need to be carefull, nothing worse than a teacher who can now see clearly. The sunnies are great, I hope this post sends some more business your way. I am sure we will do business again in the future.

Hey Dazza, have you got a shop or lab or something where people can walk in off the street? :-?

Just wondering where you're at, as i would love to be able to pick whatever frames i like ( if my sunnies dont fit just right, they give me headaches) and get some custom polarized lenses to suit.

Can you do any sort of tint or mirrorred lens as well?

Cheers

Hey Damo

I work in a lab that is situated at South Bris.
Let me know what you want and we can go from there.

2DknB - this is great! Also, this reinforces my belief that we should consioder an Ausfish 'yellow-pages' of known, AND trusted resources for anyting like this to boat repair etc. We have no doubt got heap[s of members who are in their own business, and do it well...so why not promote on this site.....When I get some time, I would be happy to help set this up...whatdayareckon Mr. Ausfish???

ps. Dazza - I'll PM you to get your details for when I next upgrade (or downgrade as the case may be) my prescription!!)
