go a shimano sedona 2500 for about 100 bucks, or the new siennas which are around 70 i think.

G'day
I have the 4000 sedona on and ugly stick same rating, running 10lb fireline.

Sedona ( [smiley=2thumbsup.gif] great value for money.

If ya only looking for a freshwater reel, u might be well served having a look at the abu garcia cardinals, more bearings than the shimanos in the similar range and much smoother, i have played with both at work and definately rate the abu. What shimano has going for it i the cheaper reels is they have some arb bearings (sealed bearings) which is great for the salt, but for te fresh they are not really of any advantage. Also there are a large selection of sizes, so u can find the best mach for ur rod. They are a little heavier than the shimano, but that is not really a concern as u have a glass rod (heavyish) so te extra weight in the rell will balnce it nicely. Ur looking at $80 tops for that reel.
cheers

thanks guys
ill have a look at the sedona sounds a good reel. Blackened, how does the 4000 size go on the rod, would the 2500 be too small? also just wondering how it goes casting medium sized (eg 4 - 18g) lures
thanks adam
