I am a right hander but have always used my left hand to wind since i can remember, I just got a left handed bait caster and love it. Its beats my first one hands down which was right handed.

So who winds left, and do you use Baitcasters, and why don't they stock more on shelves?

Cheers TT

All my rods are left handed except my cheap baitcaster, which I have just replaced for a left hand model and my Alvey surf rods. I find I can work the lures better on a left hand wind as I am right handed.

My name's Mike and I'm a left-hand winder :)

I don't do much fishing with baitcasters, but will do in future. What models are you guys using?

Thanks,
Mike

I use a Okuma Induron 250 lx Left hand wind for my Barra gear a great reel, 8 bb and heaps of drag. Nailed a few big girls last week and a hefty jack the week before.

not really sold on the fish with right and wind with left issue, sure there is a chance you might get a 'bite" when swapping hands, and stronger arm and so on, been there and tried it all years ago, but I am from the old "if it feels good, do it" never been one to try this or that because some "celebrity" on TV said so or uses brand X, do what you find works and feels comfy, by all means wind with your toes if it is OK with you, no worries, years ago (many years ago) I converted a Penn International 30 to left hand 'drive" for a bloke, he used it for a while and thought it was fantastic, but a year later, he wanted me to swap it back, but that does not mean it was "wrong" if you like left hand the go left hand, but not because someone said it is the right way, do it because it feels right for you.

All my rods are left handed

Is that like left handed screwdrivers LOL ;D

I cast baitcasters with my left hand and wind right handed. No swapping around from hand to hand.
