looking at rod options for casting soft plastics and hard bodies to impoundment barra, shallow ocean/bay (Gneerings/Murphy/?) and maybe jacks. Already have a suitable baitcaster for casting one ounce/28gm hardbodies to impoundment barra so may be good to have capability at the lighter end of the lure range as well as the standard 100mm slick rig or equivalanet

Line would be 30lb braid but open to suggestions.

4000 size quality threadline

Lures ranging from Classic Barra/F18/B52 through various weights of soft plastics from slick rigs to much less heavily weighted plastics around the same 100mm+- size.

Currently thinking of a relatively low tech clear glass tipped style rod around 7', because I think in good brands they will cope with some abuse. But interested to consider more 'pedigreed' rods, looking for ease of casting all day; any favourites or suggestions and why?
