Hey guys,
I need to get some work done to some gear and was looking for some recommendations as to where I might take it. I used to use the Tackle Warehouse in Brisbane, but now I live at the Sunshine Coast (Wurtulla) it's time to find a new place. I've got a rod with a broken inner ring on one of the runners and a reel that needs its yearly service. Where do the Sunny Coast members take their rods and reels?

Tackle World at Kawana do rod and reel repairs. Just drop in there and see the guys. They can advise you if its viable to repair it or not. With the price of rods these days, its cheaper to buy a new rod sometimes then pay someone to repair one. Hope this helps

Thanks Billy Boy, I may try there. I haven't been back in there for a while. I went in to buy bait and I was virtually ignored while 3 different staff members spoke to one of their regulars. Then when they did decide to pop up and come over I got very little help. Happened on 2 different occasions, hence I haven't been back.

You could try maroochydore fishing world on first ave - I have taken reels there before for a service and was happy with the work. There is also another place in Mudjimba on the way to the airport, can't think of the name but I know they do rod repairs and reel service.

Hi Joel.
Sorry to hear that you didn't get good service there. I'm a regular there and know all the boys. I even take one of the guys Bass fishing when he can get away. If you do go in there ask for Greg or Steve. Steve is the manager and Greg is the other fulltime guy there. Just find it hard to believe that they virtually ignored you. But unfortunately it does happen from time to time. I'll give em a kick up the butt for ya. lol

Took my gear into Caloundra fishing world. Excellent service! Fixed the rod for free in a couple of hours and I will be picking the reel up tomorrow. Looks like I've found my local, I'm very happy with their service. Thanks to all for your replies.
