Hey guys,

well it seems that lures can become quite addictive and the jackalls are no exception.
I thought it would be interesting to see peoples jackall and other lipless crankbait collections.

feel free to include ecogear, megabass, daiwa, g-vibe and any others you have.

ok lets see em ;)

I too went though a stage of being obsessed with lipless crankbaits and here is the progression from buying crapola from ebay (on the right) to ok strike pro then the almighty jackell

Have 3 and barely use them/ haven't caught a fish on them, maybe a flathead i can't remember. I bought them around about the time when i started fishing for bass in a canoe in wild creeks and rivers where you are better off using floating divers or lightly weighted softies (jackells sink too quick and snag too easy in shallow creeks). If i get bored i'll take a photo and show them off.

Here are some of my fave bass lures with a mixture of Jackalls, Megabass, Ecogear, and Daiwa TD lures.

I find that the megabass lure ( 2nd pic) is the closest lookalike to a bony bream that I have found.

nice selection fishytales,

do you find the jackalls are the most effective? if not which ones are?

another quick question, why have you changed all the trebles to red.
my jackalls and ecogears came with black owners.

Gidday yellahunter, I have found that recently the Jackalls have been more effective,( especially the TN60 ) but about a month back I had a good trot using the Megabass X-Ultra lures. I can pick them up cheaper in Japan than I can a Jackall so I purchased a couple. They worked so well I ordered some more. ;D I swap between them all the time trying to find what works.

As for hooks, I was finding that at times with both sets of trebles hanging out their gob, the bass would manage to twist and bend the Owner trebles. Don't get me wrong, I think they are a fine hook, but after hardb8t mentioned the VMC # 6 hook, I went online and purchased a bulk amount of 28 hooks for $10 aust which included postage from OS. (try buying that quantity of hooks here and see what price they ask ) They are a great hook, but the bass can wreck them too.

I thought I would take another pic and upload seeing as I had a few lures come in the mail.
Lures are a mixture of Jackalls, Megabass,Ecogear, Daiwa TD, and Luckycraft, all imported from Japan.
