Sand crabs have been the star performer this week as they go on an eating binge ready for winter.
I easily picked up a good feed around the mouth of the Logan early in the week and most crabbers I spoke to had similar results everywhere from Bribie to the Broadwater.
To maximize your chances make sure you have good fresh bait and get your dillies in the water before daylight working sandy areas where there is little boat traffic.
The other hot area for anglers has been pelagic activity down the western side of Moreton Island.
Longtail tuna have been in good numbers around Comboyuro Point and there have been some extremely big cobia around the wrecks and Curtin Artificial Reef.
If the weather will let you get offshore, there has also been some pelagic activity, including the odd mackerel, around The Group off Point Lookout.
A live bait or slow trolled dead bait has been the most productive technique, especially if combined with a good stream of berley.
There have been good numbers of tailor on the surf beaches and around the rocky headlands off Scarborough, with several over the two-kilo mark caught on floating pillies during the week.
In the Moreton Bay there have been good numbers of small flathead on the edges of the sand banks, particularly the Amity, Naval Reserve and Maroom banks.
Casting deep diving lures around the drop offs on the last of the run out tide has been turning up fish to two kilo over the past week.
It is a similar story at Jumpinpin with small flathead on the edges of the sand banks and the drop into the main channel.
There were very few tailor caught from inside the Pin Bar this week, but a few big jew were caught live-baiting the point of Short Island and the deep hole at the entrance to Swan Bay.
A live mullet will give you a good chance however a couple of banana prawns threaded up the line is a sure-fire alternative.
The banana prawns have been patchy with wild reports ranging from nil to tonnes.
However it would appear the most consistent areas so far have been around Nudgee and Shorncliffe with scattered reports from the southern Bay islands, the mouth of the Logan and Pitt Rocks in the Logan.

Fitzy showing his versatility with this fly-caught tarpon - no it wasn't caught in Summersault.
