Read your report Phill should ave come out a bit deeper.
Your rumour were right. ???
With the wx so good, had to go out, on the water by 3.30am
winds 10kts with gusts, seas .8, headed to S/e cnr Mud
around the 10m contour, mate skippering, as 2 hrs sleep
from engagement party that nite, wasnt feeling the best.
Anchored up on nice rubble patch, berlying chopped pillys
and old squid from last week. high at 4am. (Rigs single
bottom rig and floaters 2/3balls 2 x 3/0 gangs with whole
squid and tailor fillets). Bites started about 1hr after turn
and about 1 & half , mate landed nice squire 48 cm then
small squire 28/31 (back in water) good forktailed catty
around 4kg, though we had something decent. Then both
floaters went off and we land 2 nice squire around 47/50
(see pic) plenty of boats around and a bit of action on those
close. Then all went quiet except for grinners and small
squire. 3hrs after turn headed to top of st helena for a bream
bash and outcame the guts, mine wasnt the best either so
into the cab for a snooze, matey landed some small bream
and around 11.30 told mate to take me home (left berley
trails back to ramp) :-[ :-[
Never again in that condition. :-X http://www.ausfish.com.au/chat/images/smilies/cwm20.gif http://www.ausfish.com.au/chat/images/smilies/cwm20.gif
but trip worth it for 3 good squire, Looks like they are on
the run early this year, anyway hope so. bigger ones not far
behind. :-X
