hi guys& gals
left bribie ramp by 4.30 headed for the cowan ledge via the shipping poles to try our luck jigging for some macs three poles for no macs & three livies . on to cowan couple of drifts :'(wile the tide was slow for two catfish then off to anchor on some nice looking ground we found couple of months back . the burley trail set the livies out time for a feed the under size squire becoming a real pain . when the brother in laws livie was smashed after fitting him with the gimbal belt i was nominated to gaff duties the fight was long & had everyone on board guessing to what this brute was twenty minutes later an 11.8 kg cobia was thrashing around the deck . he was one very happy lad after all the trips i have chased these fish with no joy there it was laying on ice . i have had several phone calls to remind me that he caught a black king dont think i will live it down for some time .after all the back slapping we headed to the curtin the rods out sitting back relaxing when you guessed it the brother s rod went off again this time a spotted shovel nose about 9-10 feet long come the side of the boat . i sunk the gaff in and was just about ripped out of the boat broke the gaff in two & proceeded to swim back to the bottom :'( all on board had a great day on the water the tally for the day two squire one cobia
cheers fatty (darren)
