24.1 kg gilled n gutted weighed on the co-op scales, rod broke so phil fought the fish with a broken rod, all hooks were straight when the fish was gaffed, top effort.

Jaybee,
Do you know where off Bruns?
Top fish. :o
Guess its just for those occassions that you want to by a decent quality rod, reel and tackle. Could you imagine if he had lost it at the boat and just came back with a broken rod, straightened hooks and a story. :'(
Cheers,
Jeff

jeff this is the first quality mack (blue) that phil has caught, last year he was lamanting it will never happen to me. my bros best fish to date is 18kg without head n gut, n as he said it has whipped him, and his catch was a few yrs ago, oh by the way it was on the local with live slimie. and another point, my bro couldn't raise a scale today, they fished within 50 mtrs of each other. ;D more photos to come, that truely shows it size.
cheers
Joe

Joe I'm not surprised about the trembles lmfao.
Good fish for the Bruns area, cant be too many around at that size especially with all the holiday traffic !!!
Cheers,
Rich.

the last photo was minus tail. LOL, phil bleeds his mack at the tail and apparantly it fell off as he couldn't lift it high enough for a photo and the bend was too much for it.
