I managed to get out on Sunday with every other boatie in QLD. Had a pretty unexciting day between Caloundra and Mooloolabah until I found this school of GTs. Check out the photo at:

I feel like a bit of a cheat as this would be the first fish I have caught that hasn't been on fly for well over a year or two. Still I really enjoyed watching the fish clamber over eachother to get to the popper.

Very nice trevally for SE Qld. I used to catch GTs regularly at Bray rock just off Caloundra, but they haven't been there for several years now. I have a mate who catches some good GTs to around 5 kg off Caloundra headland on lures and baits, but its not for the fainthearted ie low rock platform.

Any clues on where this fish was taken? Brays rock, Raper shoal?

cant say ive ever seen trevally out in the open here before :-/ have caught plenty in the wash at old woman. nice fish either way.... we had a VERY eventfull trip sunday morning ;D ahh i love summer.
