What can I say !
Phill, Bob + 1, Adam, Kris, Steve, Rob, Greta, Kel, Kev and Ray and crew in the morning.
Saturday morning saw Kris, Greta, Adam and Kel and me fishing the Myora until the tide slowed and then up to Parrot spot. The Myora produced Squire and not much else. The Parrot grounds didn't give up the target species, but we did boat Moari Cod, Squire, Sweetlip. Adam & Kel hooked up some Parrot and Sweetlip over near the central Oyster leases.
Made camp around midday, as the tide was high enough to get the boats close to shore. Few beers and off to the high school to Vote.
The afternoon saw a few more beers go down and the arrival of Kev, Rob, Bob, Steve etc. Thanks to Adam ( stove ), Rob ( fish ) and Kris ( breadcrumbs etc ) for dinner.mmmmm !
For a first timer to the M & G, Steve had the right idea, didn't even bring a rod ? just an eaky full of JB Cans ;D
Not a late night by normal standards, as most were sunburnt and been up since sparrows. The morning ( 4.30 ) saw the boats sitting high and dry. It wasn't til after 6 that Rob and Kev could get into the water proper and out over the bar, some Spanish and billies ( expect update soon ). Bob joined that venture later.
Weather was great, camping spot was great. Those big tides made it a tad difficult, but !
I'm sure there will be more info forthcomming from the others soon.
The freshwater scene looks promising for Steve, nice lures mate, let us all know how you get on with those " Large Mouth " ?
Cheers Phill
