headed out thru the pin early this morning it was my first time out thru the pin but conditions were pretty good , got surprised by how far you have to go before the depth gets over 3m just south of the pin there were truck loads of bait with birds working them , but l was unable to get an enquiry decided to put a couple of xmas decorations out the back and see if a beaky could be found , worked my way south along the 50 m line not much hapening but good to be out there , it wasnt till about 1 km north of the sea way l had my first hit now l have discovered watching the rods which are behind me and steering the boat isnt that easy by the time l new l was on the fish was leaping 100 m further back than l was trolling the lure , then there was the other rods to wind in and the photos and the gaff it was all happening some how managed to boat a nice dolphin fish my first ;D
trolling off shore can be a bit slow but when your on its a big buzz l will be getting into this when ever weather permits
cheers spike

hey jeff l was in around 46 m of water not having a gps cant tell you how far l was off shore but im sure there are others on this site who will know , the water is a really nice blue when you get out to the 50 m mark there were a heap of game boats out there and l beleive they were into the marlin , most of the action was straight out from the sea way , bait everywhere out there looked like stocky white bait :-/ the dolphin fish was ful of them
cheers spike

top work spike, pissing myself laughn over your camera work ;D
young fella was speared by a marlin at the gold coast and taken to hospital, they really are very dangerous fish when they get close to the boat.

Outrageous dropped a Sail then circled back to the pod and got and landed a double on 6kg to win the Tournament 400m off the Seaway. We got a Black and there were some others seen on the 24 fathom (about 45m) reefs out from the Seaway - maybe 4 mile or so.
