Sunday morning sickness

Made dit to Boyne Island on Sat morning with the cheese and kisses as well as both the kids. We caught up with some friend we had’nt seen for over a year. Beer started at about 11 in the morning consisting of home brew tally’s. By 9 that night we had the boat ready to head out. 2:30 am came and we were on the water, hit the battery with a hammer to get it going and we were finally mobile. Out through the shipping channel, an 1 ½ travelling time in total. Feeling very green around the gills the first sweet lip was in the boat within seconds and they just kept coming. We bagged out on them within the first hour. Also managed a few cod and some good sized parrot. They fin ally went off the chew and I was getting quit crook again. Any how I have never had such a good fishing session and I regret that I was there and could not enjoy it as to self-infliction from home brew beverages.

That’s life isn’t it.

mate, i know the feeling. not that i do it very often at all but it can make a good days fishing average. not only that but the water police are hot on morton bay ,and probably a good thing to i think.how big were the sweeties? 40cm is good for me here in the bay.what bait do you use up there,squid is standard down here.is there any tinny spots in close there as i have only a 14 foot sea jay with 40.i have heard it can get rough quick up there.the bay does that too. ???

Yes snafu, I'm not in the practice of doing thta sort of activity either. However this was just a weak momment. The bait used was pilly and squid, did the job. I'm not a local from that area to tell you about the spots, but I can say there is reefs, rocks and shoals in closer however have been somewhat flogged over the years. I kept a full bag this time as it was the first time I have got out to the reef in about 4 years. So it was a nice treat. average was about 40 to 45 cm but I recall the biggest being around the 58cm mark.
