Got back from Gloucester Island after spending a week up there (8-13 Feb).
Unlike here the weather was fairly mild with the skies overcast and showers/ rain most days. Winds were from the SE and ranged from about 15-30knts. Alghough the day we left was flat as.....always the way! Overall the conditions did not allow us to get to the places we had planned. Bloody Fritz didn't help our cause!
We caught mostly sweetlip, parrot and some trout. One thing i noticed was that we got a lot of undersized red emporer, mostly around 20-30cm but one that went close to legal. We also managed to get a few crabs but interestingly a couple were empty. I wouldn't have picked that for this time of year.
One thing i can say is that the owners at Monte's Reef Resort were extremely helpful and great hosts. Haven't got any pics at the moment, will include them as soon as i get them from the others.
