hello fishos
just a quick report. Fished DI Point on the weekend with saturday just glass most of the day and by night the wind would be no stronger then 8 knots. Our pearlie grounds were back in form with massive schools of fish showing and pearlies up to 5.5kg coming aboard and what a beautiful sight it was ;D headed as wide as 45km and there was lots of fish showing but the fish would not feed in some areas. still alot of snapper around but none bigger then 5kg. bagged out on pearlies and snapper and 6 parrot.sunday saw the winds up around 12-15 knots and had a quick troll around the headland to pick up 1 spanish mack before heading north to find some new ground around 8 miles north of the point. found lots of good new grounds but with little fish on them so headed back in just a hundered mtrs of the beach in front on the carlos sand blow at rainbow beach were there is some coffee rock bottom and there was alot of bait and tuna around and managed to pick up 1 spottie before heading back in at 10.30am. Good trip with little current out wide and the pearlies in good numbers and size. The big pearlies are caught this time through to late march up there so hopefully a few 6kg ones come aboard as per other years.
Cheers Greg
