Got up at some un-Godly hour around 0400 this morning to go fishing over the the 0804 high tide. Headed down to a sport that I fished when I was younger, around Victoria Point.

Started fishing at about 0555 and fished the two hours before the high, plus one hour after it. First hour was pretty good, 7 or 8 15cm or so whiting, small soul and two bream, 20 and 21 cm. Around the top of the tide, got three more bream, again all aound 20-22cm and a few more whiting. Soon as the top of the tide came around, action died in the ass.

Bait of the morning seemed to be live beachworms. Quite pleasantly suprised as to the frequency of bites too. To top the morning off, just knocked up one of the whiting (25cm) with some herbs and lemon juice, garlic butter pan fried button mushrooms and some homemade chippies - doesn't get much better when the fish is only one hour out of the water...:-P

N.B, everything else was returned to the water.

I went last night to Mud, hoping the Bream season had kicked in a little early.

Nope, but good bream , best 35cms.

Little ripple on the water, plus the moon in the sky didn't help.

Bring on winter and those black nights
