Still no numbers of bananas at the Pin.
Spent most of the day between the mouth of the Logan and Jacobs Well for a couple of kilos and a few flathead released.

They were in reasonable numbers yesterday near the top of the tide but none today.

Would you believe I spent 5hrs castnetting without throwing a net!

I was skipper and spotter and got the blame for the lack of results.

Just spent the afternoon on the upper Albert River with Fitzy and my son Shawn - they caught bass while I watched - this hand business is getting to be a pain!

The prawns still seem to be hanging around out in front of Shornecliffe and the quality of the catches coming into Cabbage Tree Creek has been very good this morning ( Saturday_). There were plenty of boats out there today
There have not been any in the creek for some while.

Flathead have been very active in the creek this morning with some good sized fish amoungst them.

Gordon

Nugget,

A mate and I went out Friday and worked the area between Rudy Maas and Jacobs Well. Both casting nets we managed 2kgs between us. I'm glad you said they aren't around in numbers yet as we are only new to chasing prawns and thought we may be doing it wrong!

We cast during the last of the low early in the morning, had a fish in between, then had another cast during the runout in the late arvo. Found most of the prawns in less than 1-2 metres of water.

There were about 10 other boats casting at any one time and no-one else seemed to find them schooling. I am pretty keen to see them schooling as it is hard work getting one or two each cast! Any tips greatly appreciated.

Hey Dave,,, Just curious. Has this injury stopped you fishing as well? Was thinking about it and if you some how extended the reel out an extra 100mm, you could probably fit your good arm in between the line and the rod and have the rod sit on the inside of your elbow. That way you could still fish using both arms. Casting probably wouldn't be a problem over short distances with one arm. Just a thought.

Yeah thanks Chris... NOT
"Thawed for your convienience" - what next - caught to save you bait!!

I got sick of the cast so have a realy big bandaid now - works for me!

Thanks for the thought Cheech - I've been on the water every day this week and it is difficult.
